The Longbranch Foundation Fall Newsletter 2020

I love my KP heart

Fall is definitely in the air. Whatever your plans are for Thanksgiving, I hope you will enjoy. I know we will not be sitting around a large table as usual enjoying family and friends. This too shall pass … and we will get through it together. We continue to give thanks for this wonderful community and being surrounded by calming, beautiful scenery!

Annual Celebrate Campaign

A big thank you to everyone who has donated to Celebrate to date. 2020 has been a challenging year, but due to your generous contributions, we have increased our spending on Higher Education scholarships by 12.5% this year and increased Evergreen Elementary support by 45%! Some of our support programs this year included:
• Expanding our Higher Education scholarships to include vocational/trade school applicants
• Food coupons for families in need at Evergreen Elementary
• Kindergarten art supplies for 42 children
• Support for KP nonprofit organizations, especially those focused on food for kids in need
Once a year we ask you for a donation to support the work of your Foundation. We mailed our annual “Celebrate Campaign” letters on October 1. We have designated accounts so you can tell us where you want your money spent: Scholarships; Building; Grounds; Marina; Greatest Need. To date (10/25) we have achieved over 50% of our modest goal of collecting $10,000 in this campaign. Thank you for your support!

The Longbranch Foundation Web site

We have been working to improve the look and feel of our website. Lynn Thornton volunteered and is helping with this task. Thank you, Lynn. Please spend a minute and look at the information on the site. And, please let us know if you have any suggestions for
improvement.

STAY SAFE, STAY HEALTHY

The virus continues to haunt us, and Pierce County continues to see too many infections. Please follow the recommended guidelines:

Wear a mask – indoors and out, wash your hands frequently and maintain at least a six-foot distance.

This is a simple way to show respect and kindness to others.

If you have any questions about or input for The Longbranch Foundation please do not hesitate to talk with one of our Board members: Randy Carr, Jim Hettinger, Don Swensen, Marcia Harris, Marsha Kremen, David Zeigler, Sheryl Low, Michele Gorman or call me.
